Are you struggling to think of where to go to on honeymoon? Have you run out of honeymoon ideas? With thousands of honeymoon packages to choose from it can take some time in finding that perfect balance between the location and the type of activities you wish to do together on honeymoon and for me there can only be one place for a honeymoon, Samoa.

Samoa is perhaps not as renowned for being a honeymoon destination to the rest of the world, with most newlyweds opting for Australia or New Zealand in Australasia, but for those that do choose Samoa as a honeymoon destination will be rewarded with unspoiled scenery, a diverse culture and a country steeped in history. The island is a picture post card of beauty and consists of ten islands, each offering a unique and varying environment for you to discover.

The Samoan environment is tropical, with coral reefs, jungles, waterfalls and some of the world’s most spectacular beaches. Most people tend to stay in an open Samoan beach houses (Fale) where most tourists tend to adopt the locals laidback lifestyle, what could be more perfect on your first day as Mr and Mrs Smith, than to have the sea right on your door step.

When you visit this island you can’t help but embrace the local people and their lifestyle, everyone is so happy and friendly, but who wouldn’t be when you live in a true paradise. There are weekly dance shows called Fiafia, which are put on by the locals and are a must for anyone who visits the island.

Weather you’re an active couple or a couple that just loves going on walks and relaxing on the beach Samoa has a little of something for everyone. If romance is on the agenda then why not take a trip to one of the beaches on the southern part of the island heading down the Cross Island Road.

For an adventure with a twist why not go swimming with turtles? Venture off to the island of Savaii and take a dip with some green turtles. These turtles are sadly endangered due to hunting for hundreds of years, but thankfully here you can whiteness the majestic creatures and get up close to have a unique experience of a lifetime.

I can think of nothing more romantic than seeing a cascading waterfall set in a tropical setting,  why not go for a romantic swim under one of Samoa’s many waterfalls.  The ideal way to explore Samoa’s waterfalls is by taking a waterfall crawl, which can take about half a day depending on how long you wish to stay at the waterfalls, on this waterfall crawl you will see the islands most spectacular falls, on Upolu which is situated just off the Southern Coast.

If you feel like embarking on a real adventure then why not head off into the rainforests on the island?  One of the islands most visited rainforests has to be the Tafau Peninsula rainforest preserve on the island of Upolu. Exploring nature on foot is an amazing experience the rainforest has over 42 different bird species to discover.
