The honeymoon is perhaps the most romantic and relaxing holidays that you will ever take with your partner and so planning the perfect honeymoon begins by choosing the perfect destination. There are several steps to help you decide what honeymoon holiday that’s right for you. Finding the perfect destination is often interlinked with the type of accommodation, budget and activities and therefore defining the destination first could help define the rest of your honeymoon itinerary.
The most popular honeymoon is of course the beach destination regardless of the time of year. Places such as Fiji, Mauritius and the Maldives have warm temperatures all year round, and then of course there are places like Australia and New Zealand whose summer season reaches its shores during the British winter.
Budget is one of the key factors to anyone’s honeymoon destination, for some couples they tend to spend more money on making their wedding a spectacle and then spend less on their honeymoon and then of course there’s Mr and Mrs Jones who spend big on their wedding and then have an even bigger honeymoon.
An option which covers both problems is to have a resort honeymoon and be married at the resort and then honeymoon there afterwards. A good way to boost your honeymoon budget could be to use a honeymoon gift list; where by your wedding guests can donate money or purchase you certain aspects of your honeymoon, which would be particularly applicable if the couple has been living together for a few years and are not in desperate need of a cake maker.
An important factor that can’t be overlooked is to research and plan your honeymoon destination. I know at this moment your juggling with a lot of the wedding planning, but doing your research will really pay off and can be the difference between a good honeymoon and an unbelievable honeymoon.
A great way to start off the honeymoon is to book your hotel near the airport the night before you fly, to help break up a long road trip and to make sure you get plenty of rest so that you can enjoy your honeymoon from as soon as your feet touch the ground when you reach your destination.
Most importantly is to relax when you’re planning your honeymoon holiday, take it steady and don’t let anything rush you. Most of all, what must be remembered is that this holiday will be the trip of a lifetime and the start of your new life together as a married couple.
